At this years Annual General Meeting Dom Greene was elected President of Balwyn Cricket Club.
After four years of strong service as President Patrick Tuohey decided to step down from the role. Patrick provided great stability and leadership as the Club built on its position and strengthened its culture and operations. The Club and its members are grateful for Patrick's outstanding work, effort and sacrifice he provided to his Club.
A Balwyn Tiger born-and-bred, Dom has been a part of the club for over a decade progressing through our Juniors, Hatch Shield team (now Craig Shield), debuted in our Seniors as a young teenager, worked his way up the grades to our 1st XI and has served 5 years on the Clubs committee. Along his journey he has trained and played cricket with his brother Simon and his parents, Louise and Flo, have been great volunteers and contributors to our Club and recipients of the John Farmer Best Club Persons award. It's a terrific story and the best is yet to come.
Other changes to the committee are Adam Janes and Jake Gordon have decided to depart their roles. Adam maintained a very high standard of accountability in his role as Honorary Treasurer and Jake excelled in our Centenary Night preparations and his involvement with the past players. The club is greater for their contributions during this period.
Joining the committee, we are excited to add Rael Belterman, continuing his roles as Child Safety Officer and Player Wellbeing and Ben Thiele will, in addition, be tasked with Cricket Operations. Patrick will remain on the committee and will be a great resource for the new President.
